Encompassing a restaurant and bar on a busy main road, The Waikiwi, as it is locally known, is the third rebuild of suburban bars undertaken for the Invercargill Licensing Trust during the past decade.
The building was constructed in 3 sections – first the public bar with a mezzanine floor to the west, then a restaurant to the west and the large rotunda as an impressive focal point in between.
Fitting out the inside of the building was a real pleasure, with many thoughtful and quirky interior touches, the building is a real asset for the client and community and something Henderson Construction remains extremely proud of.
It was a really exciting job and to win a Silver Award in the 2018 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards was the icing on the cake...
